DAZU ROCK CARVINGS

La universidad Organizó una salida de los maestros extranjeros que llegaron este semestre a la famosa zona conocida como Las Esculturas rupestres de Dazú, que se encuentran relativamente cerca de Chongqing ( alrededor de 1 h 30 min a 2 hs), Según entiendo, la zona es muy extensa  Ver esta liga en español con info


   La zona ha sido  declarada patrimonio Cultural por la UNESCO , las esculturas datan de los siglos 9 al 13, nosotros visitamos la zona de Boadingshan. En el lugar, existen alrededor de 10,000 figuras.. todas ellas mostrando de manera didáctica (fueron hechas para adoctrinar a las personas) personajes y  partes de la filosofía y religión (Budismo, Budismo tántrico, Maoísmo)

The university organized an outing with the foreign teachers that arrived this semester, to the famous site known as Dazu Rock Carvings. that are nearby Chongqing (about 1: 30 min to 2 hs , depending on the traffic). as I understand, this site is very big (See this link in English)


The area has been declared a Cultural Heritage Site by the UNESCO and the carvings date back from the 9th to the 13th centuries . We visisted the Boadingshan area, where there are about 10, 000 carvings...all of them show in a very didactic way (they were specifically made for teaching) characters and parts of  phylosophy and religion (Buddhism, Tantric Buddhism and Maoism).
