I think these images from my balcony say it all... and it was just the end of  October!
Creo que estas imágenes desde mi balcón hablan por si solas...y apenas era finales de Octubre

Otra clase más que toman los chicos Mexicanos: el  PinYin (transcripción de los sonidos del chino mandarín a caracteres del alfabeto Romano, para facilitar el entendimiento del idioma chino) en la foto de abajo; la maestra hablando de los 4 tonos del idioma chino, estos tonos son muy importantes ya que, tan solo la entonación  cambia el sentido de la misma  palabra...
One more class that the mexican students take is Pin Yin (transcription of the sounds of Mandarin Chisese to the wester Roman Alphabet)  . In the picture, the professor explaining the 4 tones of PinYin . Tones are really important since they define different meanings of  the same word...

The words being taught on that day, the professor cheqked students work individually :
Las palabras que se enseñaron ese día, la profesora revisó el trabajo de los estudiantes individualmente.:

El Pinyin se desarrolló alrededor de los 1950´s
Pin Yin was developed around 1950's

Ejemplo de una palabra cuyo significado cambia según el tono:
la palabra ma, en el primer tono significa 'madre', en el segundo 'cáñamo', en el tercero 'caballo' y en el cuarto 'insultar'.
Examples of one word which meaning changes according to the tone: ma , 1st tone means mother, 2nd tone means hemp, 3rd tone means horse and 4th tone means to insult.

Finalmente puedo terminar con el mes de Octubre y empezar el mes de Noviembre, con una de mis cosas favoritas: la celebración del día de Muertos: Joselyn y yo preparamos una plática donde hablamos de esta celebración than importante : nuestro público fueron estudiantes y profesores  de CQUST; y creo que logramos nuestro objetivo: que ellos entendieran que nuestra celebración  no tiene nada que ver con Halloween !!!
The UV students were also planning to set up an altar so, we joined efforts and this is the fisrt meeting we had, to prepare the altar.
Los estudiantes de la UV también estaban planeando poner un altar así que unimos esfuerzos y esta fue la primera junta que tuvimos para preparar el altar...

Mas cercano a la fecha en el depa de unas de las chicas siguiendo con los preparativos
Closer to the date, in the girls apartment, we continued preparing the altar.

We decided que wanted to set up our altar at the  Centro de Estudios de México y América Latina "Sergio Pitol"  opened in 2011 at cqust.

That was possible thanks to  the support of the Director of  CQUST Department of Iternational Affairs Geroge Zhang.
Decidimos que queríamos poner el altar en el "centro de Estudios de México y América latina "Sergio Pitol"  el cual abrió sus puertas por vez primera en el 2011 (ver link en la versión  de Inglés) . Eso fue posible gracias al apollo de George Zhang, Director del departamento de Relaciones Internacionales en esta universidad: Geroge Zhang.

OUR FIRST EVENT ATTENDED AS MEMBERS OF THE CHINESE CULTURE ASSOCIATION

On Saturday 19th, we attended to hear a speech organized by the Chinese Culture Association, whose monitor is a girl called Shang Shig. We arrived at the room at 2 30 and where received by two girls who sat next to us and were explaining what the professor said about the Styles of Chinese writing.
Gwen, the girl who sat next to me, (and who is now a very good friend of mine) did an excellent job in translating the ideas from Chinese to English. In that way, I was able to understand what the talk was really about.
The speaker was professor Zhou Ya Gang, a renowned hand writer whose writing are part of collections in some museums! and he is also the Secretary  of the Chongqing Hand Writing Society.
Mr. Zhou started his talk with comments about ancient Chinese characters, the materials and evolution through time.  he also compared Calligraphy (styles of writing) and highlighted the fact that some give more freedom to the writer (like "Shinshu" style... sorry if I did not write it correctly) .

After the talk, the professor was invited to visit the offices of the Association, and we were also escorted by our new friends to pay a visit too.

We had a wonderful time!. At the Association, Mr. Zhou wrote two pieces and gave them to the Association. But that was not all, He also asked us if we believed in god and wrote something for Joselyn and for me too. For us , it is a real honor to have received not only the professor writing, but also the friendliness and affection of students there!!! Thank you very much to all!

Uno de los materiales que se usaban para escribir (un caparazón de tortuga)

One of the things that I liked was that the professor said that  writing is not just an ability, because you put your heart and emotion in doing it.
Una de las cosas que me gustaron fué que el maestro dijo que la escritura no es sólo una habilidad ya que pones el corazón y la emoción al hacerlo.

Mr Zhou also said that one can know the mood and feelings of the writer by looking at their writings, just as with the music.
El maestro Zhou también mencionó que se puede saber el humor y los sentimientos del escritor con tan solo ver la escritura , al igual que con la música.

another important thing he mentioned was that The emperor Seal is used to recognize or approve the high quality of a hand writer

De esa manera, pude entender de lo que trataba esta plática. did an excellent job in translating the ideas from Chinese to English. In that way, I was able to understand what the talk was really about.
