On Saturday 19th, we attended to
hear a speech organized by the Chinese Culture Association, whose monitor is a
girl called Shang Shig. We arrived at the room at 2 30 and where received by
two girls who sat next to us and were explaining what the professor said about
the Styles of Chinese writing.
Gwen, the girl who sat next to me, (and
who is now a very good friend of mine) did an excellent job in translating the
ideas from Chinese to English. In that way, I was able to understand what the
talk was really about.
The speaker was professor Zhou Ya
Gang, a renowned hand writer whose writing are part of collections in some museums!
and he is also the Secretary of the Chongqing
Hand Writing Society.
Mr. Zhou started his talk with comments
about ancient Chinese characters, the materials and evolution through time. he also compared Calligraphy (styles of
writing) and highlighted the fact that some give more freedom to the writer
(like "Shinshu" style... sorry if I did not write it correctly) .
After the talk, the professor was invited
to visit the offices of the Association, and we were also escorted by our new
friends to pay a visit too.
We had a wonderful time!. At the Association,
Mr. Zhou wrote two pieces and gave them to the Association. But that was not
all, He also asked us if we believed in god and wrote something for Joselyn and
for me too. For us , it is a real honor to have received not only the professor
writing, but also the friendliness and affection of students there!!! Thank you

| One of the things that I liked was that the professor said that writing is not just an ability, because you put your heart and emotion in doing it. Una de las cosas que me gustaron fué que el maestro dijo que la escritura no es sólo una habilidad ya que pones el corazón y la emoción al hacerlo. |

| Mr Zhou also said that one can know the mood and feelings of the writer by looking at their writings, just as with the music. El sábado 19
asistimos a escuchar una plática organizada por la Asociación de Cultura
China,cuyo monitor es una chica llamada Shang Shig. A nuestra llegada al salón
(2 30 PM) fuimos recibidas por dos chicas chinas quienes se sentaron junto a
nosotros y estuvieron explicándonos lo que decía el profesor sobre los
diferentes estilos de escritura china.

Gwen, la
chica que se sentó junto a mí, (y quien ahora se ha convertido en una muy buena
amiga, realizó un excelente trabajo traduciéndome las ideas del Chino al Inglés
. De esa manera, pude entender de lo que trataba esta plática. did an excellent

El ponente
invitado , fue el profesor Zhou Ya Gang,
un reconocido escritor cuyos escritos forman parte de colecciones en algunos
museos en Corea y otras partes del mundo! además, el es el Secretario de la Sociedad de Escritura China de
Chongqing .
El maestro Zhou inició su plática con comentarios sobre
los antiguos caracteres Chinos, los materiales y su evolución a través de los
tiempos, y también comparó la Caligrafía (estilos de escritura) y subrayó el
hecho de que algunas dan más libertad al escritor (como el estilo "Shinshu"
... una disculpa si no lo escribí correctamente) .
Después de
la plática, el profesor fue invitado a visitar las oficinas de la Asociación, y
a nosotras también nos escoltaron hacia ese lugar nuestras nuevas amigas .
Pasamos una
tarde maravillosa! En la Asociación el maestro Zhou escribió dos composiciones
y se las obsequió a la Asociación. Pero eso no fue todo... El maestro nos preguntó si creíamos en
dios y escribió algo tanto para Joselyn, como para mí.
Para nosotras
fue y es un gran honor haber recibido no solo el escrito del maestro, sino
también la amistad y cariño de los estudiantes que ahí se encontraban . Muchas gracias a todos!!!!!
