CHENGDU: A visit to Pandas

Finally! a place that everyone of the mexican group  had already visited , but we had not had the opportunity to visit: Joselyn and I were ready to go to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and be there as volunteers (at least that was our original plan. however, when we asked at the hostel, it seemed we had to pay more and we would only be able to stay there two hours longer than the time  the original tour ended...our disappointment was bigger when we also found out that even if we worked as volunteeers , we could only be cleaning the cages or doing other tasks that did not get us closer to the pandas, thus, we payed the normal fee for the tour and arrived there at about 8am , time in which thepandas are fed and we could see them more "active". It was very interesting to see the facilities of the place , and learn more about red pandas too!!!.
This is one more link I found about that beautiful place! that by the way it is very , very big!...oh... and we were so lucky because at the time of our visist there weren´t many tourists arround, so we could go our own pace and take pictures and just enjoy looking at them!

Finalmente! un lugar al que todos los del grupo de mexicanos ya habían visitado, pero que noso

tros no habíamos tenido la oportunidad de visitar: Joselyn y yo estabamos más que listas para ir a la Base de Investigaciones y criadero de pandas Gigantes de Chengdu  y estar ahí como voluntarias  ( por lo menos, ese era nuestro plan original) Sin embargo, cuando pedimos información en el hostal, parecía que debíamos pagar más y que sólo podríamos estar dos horas más que el tiempo original en que  la excursión terminaba..nuestra desilusión fue mayor cuando también descubrimos que aún trabajando como voluntarias solo estaríamos limpiando las jaulas o realizando otras tareas que no nos acercarían a los pandas , por lo que, pagamos el costo normal de la excursión y llegamos alrededor de las 8am, hora en que los pandas son alimentados y los podríamos ver más  "activos". Resultó muy interesante ver las instalaciones del lugar y aprender más acerca de los pandas rojos también !!!

Este es otro link que encontré sobre ese hermoso lugar!  el cual, por cierto, es muy muy grande ! ... oh... y también tuvimos mucha suerte porque a la hora de nuestra visita, no había tantos turistas alrededor , así que pudimos recorerlo a nuestro propio ritmo y tomar fotos y solo disfrutar viéndolos!!
